How To Replace Volvo Key Battery. The only tool needed to access and replace the key fob battery is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. Hold the remote control key so that the side with Volvos logotype is turned upwards with the key ring facing you.
Remove the metal key from the keyfob. Hold the remote control key with the front visible and the Volvo logo facing the right way - slide the button at bottom edge by the key ring to the right. Do not touch the contact surfaces of the remote key battery.
Carefully note the position of the batterys and poles on the inside of the cover.
Insert a new battery with the positive side facing upward. Using a micro flat head screwdriver pry in the hole behind where you removed the key blade. Hold the remote control key with the front visible and the Volvo logo facing the right way - slide the button at bottom edge by the key ring to the right. Slide the button in the lower corner of the key ring to the right.
